Market Size of China Mobile VAS 2003-2008
According to iResearch 2005 China WVAS Annual Report, with the continue growth of China mobile phone users and more variety of mobile VAS, more and more users began to use VAS. According to statistics of iResearch, the revenue of mobile VAS was RMB 34.1 billion. The Ministry of Information Industry and telecom operator strengthened their supervision measures towards mobile VAS and severely punished some SPs which breached the regulations, which greatly influenced the mobile VAS market. The revenue of SPs generating from MMS business continue to go down in the first three quarters of 2005. However, with the standardization of market, the growth rate of China mobile VAS will gradually go down and enter the stage of steady development. iResearch expects that the market size of China VAS will go down gradually. Influenced by Olympic Game of 2008, the growth rate will increase and the market size will exceed RMB 150 billion.
