Shanghai Media Group and Intel have jointly released an announcement for a cooperation on new television services.
Intel says it will provide capital and technology support to SMG's broad frequency network television service. In particular, it will offer the US$12 million for the development and promotion of network TV technology. Wang Wenhan, general manager of Intel Asia Pacific R&D Co., Ltd, said that they will further their cooperation with SMG on product development and software service and provide high performance and high reliability background support to SMGBB, an affiliate of SMG, by making use of its own advantage in Internet technology.
SMG is a leader within China's new media industry. The company's business covers digital interactive television service, mobile phone television, IPTB and broad frequency network television etc. Its SMGBB ows the exclusive right to promote and operate the company's video and audio programs.
